From Melbourne Camera Club'sWebsite Announcement:
Traditional Darkroom Printmakers Group Annual Exhibition
The Traditional Darkroom Printmakers Group of The Melbourne Camera Club will be holding its 17th Annual Exhibition on 19th and 20th of August 2017 in the club rooms. The exhibition is open to the public and camera club members.
All visitors are welcome.
The selected theme for this exhibition is CONVERGENCE.
This exhibition is exclusively darkroom prints, using traditional printmaking methods including silver gelatin processes and those from alternative print processes. The prints go beyond quality black and white images into historical processes such as gum bichromate, cyanotype and carbon printing. Viewers will be given an insight into the stunning detail that a true photographic print can render.
As an additional display, some photographers have chosen to compile prints in hand-crafted books, made using traditional bookbinding techniques. These photo albums will show what can be done to create a unique presentation of images, designed to turn individual photographs into a treasured keepsake.
The Melbourne Camera Club has a permanent darkroom with 6 enlargers and associated traditional printing equipment for its members. So if you are a passionate analogue (film) photographer and would like the use of a darkroom this is the photography club to belong to.
